The author seems like what Taleb calls an Intellectual Yet Idiot, who is more or less making a similar accusation in the opposite direction- they seem to think people that are “educated” should be above taking risks, trying new activities, and exploring new ideas less they be ridiculed by… the author.

Don’t standards of journalism require the author to at least try the 4am ice bath so they can explain from a position of expertise how it is stupid?
