But regardless, any time I read about someone vouching for the authenticity of something they are in, I think about Mitt Romney's 47% comments [0] and how people frequently deny things that they provably said/did because they didn't intend for it to be in the public record. Would Romney or any of his close colleagues (the "social circle of trusted voters associated with the speaker") have vouched for the video's authenticity, had such a system existed back then? Probably not. Instead, the video would be unverified, much like a blatant fake.
