We should be able to fit 1 Exabyte into one rack by the end of this decade on a ~700+ layer NAND.
The question remains, how do we drive down the cost per NAND module. The current market NAND is due to oversupply and is not long term sustainable.
What are the current market prices for NAND modules in terms of $/TB? And how much do we need to bring it down to catch mechanical drivers (factoring in the durability of these vs mechanicals).
How much time fsck needs on such a drive ?
