Is China’s Data Manipulated, or Flawed? Or Both?

All I'm asking is that you post an equal amount of positive articles on China.
There are 1.4 billion people. A lot of good things happen there that no one in the western media pays attention to or writes about.
1. China probably doesn't have a proportional amount of good news to share. Nothing logically dictates that there is a reciprocal amount of good things to report on there, and your argument that there are 1.4 billion people works just as well for the contrary.
2. Nothing in the Hacker News guidelines dictate that submissions must require an equal amount of good and bad articles. (note: you may realize that this is because that is an insane request regardless of the nation in question.)
3. "western media" reports more on negative news regardless of where it happens. It's largely driven by two things; a federal promise of protection to well-meaning journalists and a well-documented human condition called "negativity bias": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negativity_bias
I sincerely hope your comment is sarcastic. If not a joke, it rather comes off as a threat towards OP, which reads like a horrible faux-pas from where I'm standing.
No, it's not sarcasm.
At the moment, HN also flags any remotely positive China stories.
