Special counsel obtained Trump DMs despite ‘momentous’ bid by Twitter to delay

So, to be fair to Trump (there’s a phrase I didn’t see myself using), if he actually had DMed Jim Mattis telling him to, I dunno, nuke New Jersey or whatever, who knows with him, that would presumably be some sort of crime (at the very least of the “But her emails” variety), but would also… maybe be protected by executive privilege?

All in all, not a _great_ position for his lawyers to be in, tho. “Our client is really incompetent, so probably did all sorts of illegal stuff with DMs, and executive privilege might apply to some of them” is a hell of an argument to have to make (I mean I doubt they came right out and highlighted the “this would generally be illegal” angle, but it’s implied).
