You see… when it comes to rights and impinging on the rights of others… it becomes rather easy to make enemies of people you really don’t want to be enemies with.
Hacker News can either delete my comments (not just anonymize the username) and then delete my account or I have the right to become a very very annoying problem for them.
Rights are inalienable like that.
I don’t care if this “breaks your database” or not. It wasn’t a problem for LinkedIn to delete my account and data. It wasn’t a problem for Twitter. It wasn’t a problem for Facebook.
Why is it a problem for you?
Delete my comments, then delete my account. All of it. Not just a rename.
I was here. I contributed for a bit. Now I want to leave, and I don’t want any part of me to stay.
