I think its a bit harsh to condemn all of the people working at google. its one of the few places left that has corners of real work going on. but yeah, I worked there very briefly, and the degree of whitewashing is really stunning

I am absolutely Google's customer. I give them money, they give me services. They don't sell ads to me. I even have a phone number I can call.

It doesn't make them magically trustworthy or not.

Windows 10 and 11 treat you as monetizable eyeballs now, too. It's not a clear cut dichotomy.
