Taking away the incentives to build and make easily available access to great content is just madness.
If I was a fly on the wall in these boardrooms, I bet Google and Open AI see this as a type of crisis themselves. The source of good and relevant training information is under threat, but the chance to make ridiculous amounts of money by taking and not paying for content is just so strong to provide shareholder value.
Who cares about what the author/artist/originator person wants, our machine eats data, and we own the web, so we’ll do whatever we wish because you exist at our behest. Peasants.
