Half-baked effort to hypnotize the global south. A GPT would be presented as the totalitarian “superintelligence”, and non-native speakers would have a hard time challenging any of it.

This comment confuses me. What exactly was the half baked effort to hypnotize the global south? Raiding Worldcoin?

I would bet sama is just an asset, and is not literally planning (or perhaps even aware of) this.

The person involved in starting both of these companies that were transparently doing these bad things didn't know or plan it?

Stop bending over backwards to excuse bad behavior from bad people.

I think people like sama are very easy to manipulate. I don’t know what else to tell you.

As the other commenter linked, it generally refers to "developing"/underdeveloped countries. Aka, countries with lower per capita GDP.

global north = anglo/scandi nations and the honorary westerners (israel, japan, s-korea, singapore)

global south is everyone else.
