I'm on firefox with uBO and have no video playing.
Seems like people with uBlock are split between getting it and not, so maybe it's just not served to everyone?
A/B testing or regional variants maybe.
It's not realistic to discuss UX while plastering your website with things like "mustard skittles hahaha" unless you want to deceive people and dumb them down.
Apart from that, as long as this garbage takes up screen space, it's still not enough.
I hope that the person who invented the "sticky video" idea has a long and happy life, in a completely different job, completely separated from anything that has to do with marketing.
This is the dark pattern that I hate most on mobile by a 1000 miles.
Firefox + PiHole + no extensions = dumbass video, blank top banner ad (all the space is taken up but no content)
The choice of browser just represents what I had available to test with where different results were shown.
Maybe Brave has extra visual filters that block this specific div?
The pedant in me says: that's an ad.
It's just one of the rare ones not delivered by a gigantic network, so it's far less likely to be a scam or malware. Still an ad though.
Glad its just a work phone.
