There's a game I saw a JP kid play on a train in Tokyo on a PSP, which was katamari "like" because it was about absorbing things to grow, but it was more fluid mechanics in a 2D cave world, engulphing other fluidic boundaries inside the medium. Very "biological"

Never saw it again. It looked fascinating. It might have had a very absorbing trip-hop or electronica soundtrack he was increadibly absorbed in the experience inside his headphones.

Time has made my memory weak, thats remarkably close and might be it. But some qualities differ. This is a much more defined lead character. Maybe I was seeing a cut scene, or a very specific version or period of play.

But I can now do "games like" and see what comes up. Many thanks kind stranger.
