So this law basically says the Fourth Amendment is void for any American who ever “electronically contacts” any foreign person? And there are hundreds of thousands of known abuses of it? Am I missing something here?
I don't think you are. Section 702 is egregiously terrible.
There's just way too much "trust us, we need to be intruding like this". Democracy can't function, can't work, when the state isnt willing to actually engage & defend itself in real terms. This is just more disappointing terror-mongering from behind the curtain.
