"In its first four years, the CO2 Coalition received over $1 million in contributions from foundations that support conservative causes and from energy industry officials."
The CO2 Coalition was established by William Happer, a senior director with the White House National Security Council under Trump. The coalition received donations of over $100,000 from the Sarah Scaife Foundation and the Mercer Family Foundation of Robert Mercer and Rebekah Mercer, as well as $50,000 each from the Searle Freedom Trust, the Thomas W. Smith Foundation, the Lynde & Harry Bradley Foundation, and the Achelis and Bodman Foundation.
For insight on people like Clauser and Happer, I recommend reading Merchants of Doubt, the book by Naomi Oreskes and Erik Conway or the 2014 film.

The issue for many is that he has joined the CO2 Coalition
nonprofit advocacy organization in the United States founded in 2015. Its claims conflict with the scientific consensus on climate change and it spreads misinformation about climate change.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CO2_CoalitionHis introductory speech at Quantum Korea 2023 was 13 minutes long and was intended to inspire young scientists.
He spent 8 minutes talking about the dangers of psuedo science (which were points largely well made) and then pivoted to state that the IPCC was all based on psuedo science (with no concrete reason given).
He asserted that he can prove that key critical parts of IPCC climate science are wrong by a factor of 200 (but did not indicate what these parts were, nor indicate his reasoning for this)
