Why couldn't they just make this a real Model 3 competitor by making it their entry level sedan. Something normal like the Chevy Cruze EV would be quite appealing to me at that price. Instead it seemed like when they launched this car, they wanted to keep playing that game of pretending that they care while shipping another compliance-like car. I wish Ford shipped a Focus EV. That would be great as well. I don't understand why these companies have such crummy products in their portfolio.
(ETA: The weird "hot hatchback" category that the Bolt fits into seems the closest GM feels comfortable to get away with to a traditional sedan anywhere in their model portfolio. It's a big part of why it is exciting to see the Bolt recontinued. Maybe that means they'll have the guts to start a new sedan if the Bolt sells well.)
Cheapest tesla is around $38K right now.
If it had ultrasonic parking sensors I think I would bite.
I love the car. Lots going for it but the lack of USS is a big one for me. That, and the interior seems to rattle quite a bit, but this is my first electric so maybe that’s what you hear on bumpy roads without an engine to drown it out.
