Please note that the Wikipedia sentence you posted has no citation that substantiate "lobbyists who dispute the scientific consensus on climate change and global warming" part. It's basically anonymous Wiki editor's opinion. I personally have no idea what CO2 Coalition is.

Regardless, Is this a good reason to preclude public from hearing Nobel Laureate (or anybody's for that matter) opinion?

I have to say that the denial is getting more and more surreal with every heat record that falls. Like it's beginning to approach Flat Earther level where you wonder if the people actually believe it or if they just like fucking with you.

An easy example of actively disputing the scientific consensus on climate change is claiming that the IPCC reports are not to be trusted. In one of their latest publications, they proclaim: More CO2 is better.
