Was Twitter ever worth close to $44 billion? Just because Musk paid that much for it, doesn't mean it was worth that amount of money.

Well, he did pay that so it was worth that to him at least? If "worth" is not defined by what people are willing to pay for it, how is "worth" defined exactly?

didn’t musk try to get out of buying twitter? because it cost too much for what it was?

Didn't he sign a contract saying he would pay the cost for it? That he was then legally held to?

didn’t he claim that the value was misrepresented?

He picked the value.

he picked the dollar amount based upon perceived and portrayed value.

I don't think you can find a single reliable source who would agree that 54.20 per share was either perceived or portrayed as a fair value. I tried and I couldn't, everyone was bashing it as grossly overvaluing the stock.

Elon Musk, like any other bullshitter, can claim whatever he wants.
