Ask HN: When will HN add ActivityPub?

I think this question would be best answered by dang: hn@ycombinator.com

(also in the footer, "Contact")

Probably never? But there are a number of Hacker News Mastodon bots that people have written, here's one: https://github.com/lumenwrites/mastodon-hnbot

They could probably be adaptive for other ActivityPub formats pretty easily.

Once there is an NNTP<->AP bridge, this would be beneficial to NNTP users as well. I support this.

I'd expect a third party to implement it, and it become semi-official most likely. Like the algolia searchbox on the bottom of the page.

That gets me thinking, does hn have opengraph tags for link previews?
