The first GUI I created was in tkinter. It was ugly, "unresponsive" and looked straight out 90s but it just worked.
It was snappy, easy to write and read code for and made it a pleasure to write small applications, something many "modern" GUI libraries lack due to their inherent complexity.
Recently stumbled across these scripts and while badly written they just ran without any hitches 5 + years later.
