Thought provoking. Reading this made me curious about the numbers of ActivityPub users versus the numbers of matrix users. What was their growth pattern before and after Musk acquired Twitter?
If I'm thinking of Mastodon is a Twitter alternative, I sort of think of Element as being primarily a Discord alternative, so I guess if Discord went really bad it would be easier to test that theory?
