Canada to recall Prime Energy over caffeine levels

If you drink enough caffeine, it will kill you. It's not regulated because it's been around as an isolated chemical and as a food supplement for over 100 years. Generally speaking it's not abused and companies are responsible enough in its use that it's considered safe.

Prime has 200mg of caffeine which is almost twice the amount in coffee. The big problem is that it's sweet and it's easy to drink a few to the point of danger. I can see why it was recalled.

Tangentially, the idea that simulation is equivalent to providing the body with energy is not helping public understanding of nutrition.

It seems like in the last ten years, the bottled/canned drinks in stores have become monopolized by these kinds of products packed in "tall boy" cans whereas ten or so years ago, they were a specialty item sold in small cans like the original red bull.
