If I had a nickel for every time someone on HN claimed programming alone was impossible to automate because unlike common labor, theirs was the product of pure intellect, I'd have a lot of nickels.

Many of these same people, funny enough, also like to say that artists and creatives don't deserve a living and should suffer because art is an ephemeral, transcendent medium that shouldn't be tainted by commerce.
