I don't think their "morals" are worth understanding in the slightest.
These statements display a fundamental ignorance of morality, the role of criminal justice systems, research, the role of the state, the real current systems in place. To even begin a conversation with this person would require several sources demonstrating how their premises are all wrong and through experience this person will not engage in any of these sources.
