FDA Approves First Over-the-Counter Birth-Control Pill

This medication is one of the many dispensed at one pill a day for 3 weeks, followed by a week of placebo. I wonder if skipping the placebo is considered an off-label use? I'm not aware of any other reason why someone would take extra pills.

If so, it's really frustrating that the news and/or FDA are playing dumb and vilifying such a ubiquitous use case
