I usually order a custom pc from professional services.
I deal with choosing (the enjoyable part) and they guarantee the configuration works and assemble ot. IMO it is good value for the money.

I've been thinking of doing the same for my next machine, for similar reasons, but I also see a lot of horror stories about messed up builds, poor shipping, etc.
I am on a market for a new high performance PC right now, but I can't find any vendors with onsite warranty outside of Lenovo and Dell, which don't really sell anything that would meet my requirements.
