We had a delayed flight (24 hours) from Frankfurt to Christchurch, New Zealand. As the compensation is a sliding scale of time and distance we were the maximum.

It did take about 4 months to get the money, but, Singapore air were very good (well, they didn't deny anything at least).

Hurrah for European legislation, and hurrah for Frankfurt airport not letting take offs after 11pm so that even if they could have fixed the fault in time it would have been too late :)
