Artificial General Intelligence remains a distant dream despite LLM boom

I think I have a viable strategy about how to get there. I’m in the middle of the bell curve. If I’m thinking it, there are smarter and better funded people working along the same lines. I’d be surprised if we don’t get to AGI in 9months. ASI might be a short hop from there.
Curious: Given this, how are you preparing for it? Both financially, and in life.
As I write that question, it's sad we're still thinking about our carbon bodies in all of this.
Much bigger things are coming. I have long pondered about the meaning of life, universe... and to me, it comes down to the rise of an intelligent universe. And, essentially, we are now on cusp of that event.
You make an LLM by limiting what it can do. An AGI can decide what to do for itself. Maybe it wants to play chess instead of responding to your prompts.
Some people say AGI will emerge spontaneously from LLMs. This is supernatural thinking, based on a bad explanation. We will not be able to program an AGI until we understand how our own intelligence works.
