Voltaire Was a Scammer

Weird article trying to make the obvious point that everyone has flaws and makes mistakes and we shouldn’t blindly worship people. Duh.

Fails to mention that the same French government that concocted a stupid lottery that Voltaire and many others could game (not scam) repeatedly harassed and effectively banished Voltaire for his opinions. I find it hard to interpret Voltaire or anyone criticizing corrupt governments and exposing state-run gambling schemes as immoral. No one ever has claimed Voltaire stands as a paragon of virtue.
