Poll: HN Meetup in Munich, Germany

Given that there are currently two Germany-related articles on the frontpage, I'm reminded of the recent Stuttgart poll and the interest expressed there in a meetup here in Munich. Would you be up for it?

Anyone who would help in co-organizing it or who has suggestions for contributions, locations, etc. please leave a comment, mail me at meetup@haija.net, or contact me via my G+ or FB profiles.

Would definitely be in, let's keep the event dead simple: No long date + time discussions, just pick a date ~2 weeks from today (weekday!) and choose a nice location, where we can make a reservation. Maybe something in the "Uni-Viertel"?

That's the time frame I had in mind too. I'll wait until tomorrow to see how many people are interested and then we can make plans about location and other details.

I helped organise the last Munich HN meetup and we ran it from Cafe Ringlnatz's backroom. About 15 people showed up and it was a great evening. I'm definitely keen to attend or help organise another.

I'm definitely in.

Venue suggestions, both central, both proven as meetup places for the Google technology user group in Munich: - Niederlassung (niederlassung.org, bar close to Gärtnerplatz) - Cafe Netzwerk (cafe-netzwerk.de, non-profit web cafe / workshop place close to Hauptbahnhof)

as much as i <3 the Niederlassung, for a meetup it is a bit to loud. May i suggest the CouchClub instead, it's in the Klenzestrasse

There's quite a szene growing in Munich right now. Two javascript user groups came up in the last year and Refresh Munich (http://twitter.com/refreshmunich) this year. Munich, the new Berlin? ;)

I used to live in Munich before moving to Canada. I think the whole city flows with ideas in addition to having an open mindset.

I encourage anyone living nearby to participate, it's a great choice for a meetup. Those of you who already live there may share my opinion and need no further convincing!

same here, now in Toronto.

Give a heads up for the guys at http://hackful.com/

the London meetup started out in someone's bedroom, now 500+ people. You should go for it.

Didn't know that was a bedroom but they had good beer!

I hope i can do one in Frankfurt before the Startup Weekend Rhine-Main in June.

I really look forward to this event, all the startup related ones i have been so far were mostly business graduates and no hackers. The guys at the CCC Munich are great, but don't have much interest in startups.

btw you should also check: http://techism.de

we try to aggregate all TechEvents in Munich there

@kojote: excellent site! That's exactly what I was searching for, since I am new in MUC since a couple of months. Excellent events you have listed.

Is there a way to have a per-month view and/or lotus-notes invitations?

keep it going! Cheers

glad you like it

Thats a brilliant idea. I'm curious to see how the other readers look like :)

Wanted this for a long time. Sadly finally left Munich two months ago.

Any interest in a Barcelona meetup?

Yep, I'm moving there in a few weeks.

I am in as well! Excellent idea!

Was there one in Stuttgart? :(
