I just found this ranking page in the Nitter issue [0] which was discussed here [1].

Does anyone have more info about where it gets the data from and if there is some kind of archive/history of it?

Nice site, thanks for sharing. I really didn't know any better since Alexa (which was shutdown a while ago) or the "Top Websites" tab of similarweb.com (quite biased)

There is also https://radar.cloudflare.com which uses the statistics from their dns servers https://1.1.1.1/dns
