None of the serious cybersec professionals I know are using ProtonMail.
I like protonmail because you can create addresses using Tor. Not a ctbersec professional though...
But you probably need to use email, and other providers may not be any better.
Phone messengers are not a replacement for email.

I use it. I’d consider myself a professional who has worked in InfoSec for FAANG for over 13 years and have given multiple Blackhat talks and one defcon talk.
