Resources for Learning Embedded Systems

Wonderful, I've been looking resources like this. It seems to me its difficult to find project ideas for students/new beginners who want to get into the field.

most of the advice I got along the lines of "get an arduino...." or "Here is some device write this complex thing for it". There wasnt any in between tutorials.

much appreciated.

These kinds of resources are amazing and I bookmark them but without any sort of guidance about the order of things to learn, it's easy to get overwhelmed.
