Thats a pretty high profile hire, considering her work on Asahi Linux that has been 'trending' multiple times. As both an apple silicon and a steamdeck user, i see this as good news.
It's Alyssa Rosenzweig. Congratulations!
Maybe AMD should just contract Valve to manage writing drivers for them?
Why limit to AMD?
Because AMD are incompetent when it comes to software, has been for decades.
How long until Valve contracts the rusticl guy so AMD has an actually working OpenCL driver?
Congrats, i was following her work for Asahi linux, really impressive.
She has been working on the GPU driver for Asahi Linux, no? I wonder if she will continue doing that or completely switch to working for Valve.
IIRC she's already worked on it during her time at Collabora. I don't think that will change, especially considering that she's not employed.
