No, it's a computer. It's not a healthy replacement for human interaction. It's good for some kicks or laughs and that's it. Past that it veers into unhealthy. More and more we complain about feeling alone and on an island, socially deserted, while being surrounded by humans we know or wish we knew more. Let's work on community and not replacing it with a language model.

And I say all of this as a very intense introvert. I get everything I need for social interaction during the day from participating in comments on here or chats during live streams on YouTube or twitch and talking to my girlfriend. I've played around with replika and other chat things and local models and there's no contest.
