Show HN: Improving HN Who Wants to Be Hired with ChatGPT

The recent Who wants to be hired thread inspired us to see if we could provide a really compelling and useful tool for finding potential job candidates. While there have been attempts over the years, none (in our opinion) made a serious effort at extracting structured data with high accuracy to provide effective search and filtering.

We initially used some regular expressions to prove out the idea, but knew that approach would quickly descend into a never ending list of edge case handling. ChatGPT seemed like the perfect tool for the job, so we set about using it to parse structured data, perform classifications, and interpolate missing or ambiguous data.

We have a number of improvements planned, most notably around adding support for Who's Hiring threads, but would love your feedback on what we have so far.

We also have a brief write up about the capabilities and challenges of using ChatGPT to return deterministic structured data here: https://hnjobs.u-turn.dev/about
