WebAuthn vs. Passkeys

AIUI, copying key data to Apple's servers is part of the iphone platform. It's what good apps do — good in the sense that they achieve user happiness and utility based on the platform's strength and weaknesses.

Assuming my understanding and description above is reasonable, «WebAuthn is an awesome concept with terrible execution» really means «WebAuthn is an awesome concept and the iphone platform has terrible execution», and the execution is general. Passkeys is just webauthn done as the platform suggests.
