Gergely is pretty trustworthy when it comes to his internal sources. He's got a lot of connections and uses them very responsibly.
The reason I'm waiting is that if/when Google confirms Cloud DNS (the nameserver functionality) is going away I can have a more productive discussion with my google cloud rep once things are announced officially.
