Would Tesla engineers call a feature "Elon mode" without orders and blessings from the man himself?

I hope there's an executive order from the NHTSA to brick all Teslas until Elon mode is removed.

I can imagine the man(-child) asked for this feature, because, he knows better, right?

I can also imagine in his hubris he'd think the feature is better than it is, and he thinks he can tweet on his phone rather than pay attention to the road. It'd be ironic if FSD is the cause of his demise.

Does he even drive himself? I can imagine his handlers think it's too risky, and that they've assigned a chauffeur for him.
