Ask HN: What open-source projects are you currently contributing to and why?

KDE - https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved - Because KDE Plasma is the desktop environment I love and use the most and also I like a lot of KDE applications very much. Also the KDE community is one of the most friendly and helpful ones I encountered in the FOSS world and are working on many exciting projects/software.

Only my own. A few with, hopefully, public interest:

Setup a k8s cluster + elastic with ansible https://github.com/ggeorgovassilis/setup-k3s-ansible

A collection of linux scripts, eg. remote controlling a wifi power plug, change sound volume in linux with touchpad gestures and more https://github.com/ggeorgovassilis/linuxscripts

A JSP implementation (with tag files!) based on an interpreter instead of a compiler https://github.com/ggeorgovassilis/fauxjsp

A Super Star Strek re-implementation https://github.com/ggeorgovassilis/superstartrek

A library that maps Java interfaces on REST services https://github.com/ggeorgovassilis/spring-rest-invoker

Mainly because I needed/wanted/could and there wasn't already something around that did the job.

An ansible collection for hardening Linux systems I mostly wrote: https://github.com/dev-sec/ansible-collection-hardening

Another ansible collection to manage Icinga: https://github.com/T-Systems-MMS/ansible-collection-icinga-d...

And the yunohost app for invoice ninja: https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/invoiceninja5_ynh

Backstage - https://github.com/backstage/backstage/pull/17260 - because I wanted to learn few new things and this functionality might actually be useful for me.

ok, this is gonna be some comedy but

Openreplay, because I actually work there :)

my own thing, https://github.com/LiveDuo/destack

reason: people like it (but also drives traffic)
