Microsoft now sells Surface replacement parts: displays, batteries, and SSDs

Nice! My e-bike battery is like $600… =\

Feels Like Malicious Compliance, so MS can say "See, technically we're Repair Friendly" similar to Apple "repair program". But with those prices, unless the device has sentimental or software value, you're better buying a new one.

For some context in pricing, a battery for a framework laptop cost $59 US (now in discount for 50).

I could understand other parts charging for more, or basically what they would be accounted as parts divided surface retail price. Earning the same profits as they would.

But Battery, and $238, is just ridiculous.

ebike batteries and laptop batteries are very different things.

much like the difference between an ebike and a laptop, in fact. both being called a "battery" does not make them the same or even similar.
