Huawei filed “Vision Pro” trademark in 2019 – may force Apple to rebrand headset

iPhone was registered but unused by Cisco. They made a deal and here we are. IOS was also registered by Cisco, so it's pretty likely the same sort of deal was reached. Money talks, and it was financially worthwhile for both parties.

I doubt Huawei is going to do the same though, since they are direct competitors that goes up to the nation state level. Huawei has no financial reason to relent and give up the trademark, but every reason to keep the trademark now that their Western competitor wants it and has already tried to appropriate it.

I can't see Apple retaining the mark. They should have done their research first before their marketing. They won't be able to bully China into submitting to them very easily.

My prediction is if Apple tries to push it, Huawei and China in general will rub their noses in it to embarrass the West.
