Secure your startup’s future by watching the big corporations

Right. Do something new by playing follow the leader.

In my opinion, if you really want to do a startup then find the common sense things that big companies do not and cannot do. Large companies cannot think new thoughts well, nor can they change direction easily. Think of them as huge behemoths with enormous momentum. Apple will continue to think it is a cool technology company even when it is not.

They - Apple - got where they are because they thought out of the box. The Mac was not in the box. The iPod was not in the box, nor was the iPhone. Want to do a startup? Look outside the box. Certainly be aware of what is going on in the world, but "secure your startup's future"? No.
