I'm with you, but for different reasons.
I'm sometimes asked to explain a piece of my code.
If I told my boss, "I dunno. ChatGPT wrote that part, and to me it looks like it works OK" I'd probably be fired.

At some level somebody with engineering knowledge is going to have to understand the problem domain, the code, the data, the use cases, ancillary data stores, etc.
So it is more like it is predicting what I already wanted to type, instead of being something like pair programming and giving snippets.
Outside of Leetcode-style stuff it's never going to produce reams of correct code in non-trivial projects with so little supervision that this is a major problem.
