Agreed, was also disappointed. Apart from a poorly constructed shallow story, the black and white parts were quite off-putting. The whole point of this film was playful van Gogh-esque colors and his signature strokes. Whose idea was it to have oil on canvas in black and white, for whatever purpose (flashbacks - whatever)? Incredibly bad idea.
