I don't get how people have so little self awareness that they make racial stereotypes of imaginary characters that have absolutely no racial dimension in the story and then use that to double down on their prejudice.

That's a harder argument to make at a moment when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with its explosion of ethnic diversity, is so well received by comparison.
