Ask HN: Which is a better unified API platform?

5 points·harshithmulla··8 comments

Hello HN,

We are in need of a unified API solution. We have evaluated Merge.dev and Apideck. Need some help and tips on which one to choose?

As far as we understand 1. Merge.dev has a data sync approach and is very costly 2. Apideck has a more realtime approach where there is no concept of datasync

I was under the impression you're actively building your own solution "<product> integrates different APIs [...] and provides a single GraphQL layer to integrate third party APIs" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35526107 Is the question about evaluating competitors in the same market?

Hey yeah we were working on it but after some user research, we think there is a lot of friction and not much of market there.

We are pivoting to something new and we are evaluating these.

Do you need breadth (cover many APIs with basic functionality) or depth (a few APIs but advanced functionality)? If depth, which segment of APIs, email/calendar, CRM, ...?

We are looking for depth, mostly in payroll and email

In that case, for email please check out Aurinko API https://docs.aurinko.io/unified-mailbox-api/email-api

Which payroll platforms are important to you?

We are also building a virtualization layer, so you could configure a virtualized unified API for your specific needs provided that we have the required connectors. https://www.aurinko.io/blog/virtualized-unified-api/

Email me at alexey at aurinko.io if you have quesitons.

Pricing?

Have you checked out https://apiida.com

Nope checking now. But this seems to me more of an infra platform than a unified API? Am I missing something?
