I half regret going for a fully specced Macbook Pro M1 instead of a Studio. Today I could get an m2 double the ram and ssd spec studio, and just trade off the portability (which really only applies to the screen). I don't use the keyboard, trackpad, webcam, anything really. I pretty much paid a premium for a screen.

Dumb dumb me, but that's ok.

You could probably get the M2 Studio and resell your MBP for a pretty decent price once you swap all your files over. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How are they able to claim such lofty performance gains? What is the catch?

What performance gains are you referring to? No mention of that in the featured article

The livestream said that the M2 Ultra is as fast as 7x afterburner cards or something wild.

Edit: Wrong product, whoops

That is just from the newer encoding blocks, which are a small part of the die... And probably a cherry picked result.

I miss the trash can. :(

Plenty of options at Home Depot

You can get a full spec one on eBay for ~$800 these days. Some cheese graters going for good prices as well.

I got a full spec one for £400 off ebay! (the trash can)

A broken one of these would be a trash cannot.

It works great!

first mention of trash can nostalgia I've ever seen online. Everyone hated that computer

Why? It lived up to its nickname.
