Ask HN: What is the best FreeBSD-based desktop “distro”?

Among the news in my RSS aggregator this morning is that there's a new ISO available for GhostBSD 23.06.01[1]. This got me to wondering what the state of FreeBSD desktop distros* are, what is the best, and if there is cross-collaboration between the distros* or if they are working in silos for the most part.

*I realize "distro" is not the right tern for variants of FreeBSD but am not sure what the proper term is.
