The USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear-powered submarine, had its aft main shaft strut bearings made of wood. Wood has been used as propellor shaft bearings in conventional ships, and hydroelectric plants dating back to the 1920s have used it in the bearings for their turbines.

There's no mention of how a wooden satellite would compare to a "standard" satellite in terms of weight. Would they be similar?
