Pushing the limits of NSStatusItem beyond what Apple wants you to do

We as a team were initially divided on whether to push NSSttatusItem limits in this way. Fighting the OS is always extra work and risk. But at the end of the day Apple's own FaceTime pulls similar shenanigans and ultimately it feels like a successful design.

Nice! It's very apple that the default recommend way is very restricted but there are clever ways to get around that restriction if you dive deep enough.

Also, Swift is so much easier to read then ObjC.
