India would block strong statements against Russia and inhibit cooperation that benefits the rich world over developing countries. The G7 is essentially just a club of western-aligned rich democracies, and India isn't two of those things. India has little interest in aligning with the west, and little to gain. They are going to continue with a third path, or possibly creating their own block in the future.
